Water overwhelms the limbs.
The heads slips under.
A last look at clouds.
This life swept clean.

What meaning is there to heaven?
At the end of great flesh
a body on its new road.
Perhaps the spirit walks along–
one hope.


In addition to appearances in The Olive Press, Ian Randall Wilson’s fiction and and poetry have appeared in other literary journals including The North American Review and The Gettysburg Review. A short story collection, Hunger and Other Stories, was published by Hollyridge Press (2000). His first poetry collection, Ruthless Heaven, will be published by Finishing Line Press. He has an MFA in Poetry and Fiction from Warren Wilson College, and is on the fiction faculty at the UCLA Extension. By day, he works at Sony Pictures in Los Angeles.
